Group KAP
Fall 2025 Program Details
Understanding Group KAP
Group Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is an innovative and experimental approach combining the therapeutic effects of ketamine with the supportive dynamics of group therapy. Designed for individuals suffering from depression, these groups offer a structured journey through the challenges of mental health. Led by experienced facilitators, our KAP groups will consist of no more than 9 participants, fostering intimacy, community, and shared understanding. Over the course of the 7-week program, group members will participate in over 25 hours of therapy.
Ketamine’s Role in Treating Depression
Ketamine, known for its rapid-acting antidepressant effects, plays a crucial role in this therapy. In controlled, therapeutic doses, it aids in creating profound psychoactive experiences, opening new pathways for emotional healing and cognitive restructuring. Particularly for those with depression, ketamine can offer relief from the pervasive feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and emotional numbness, initiating a process of deep psychological transformation. Please know that racemic ketamine is not an FDA-approved treatment for any mental health disorder even though there is substantial evidence supporting its rapid anti-depressant effects in “off-label” use.
