Psychedelic Therapy
Psychedelic Therapy in Columbus, Ohio
What psychedelic therapy means, which medicines exist, and what is legally available today.
One field. Several kinds of work.
Psychedelic therapy is an umbrella. It covers psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, preparation and integration, harm reduction support for experiences that happened elsewhere, clinical consultation and supervision, and professional education.
At LuminaThera, that umbrella holds one legally available medicine today. Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is offered now, in person, in Columbus. The rest of the field is either supportive work that needs no medicine or medicines still moving through the law.
Psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy is licensed clinical work.
Psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, or PAP, is the clinical form of this field. Licensed mental health professionals hold a defined treatment relationship. Assessment, preparation, supported medicine sessions, and integration follow a plan, with professional ethics and documentation behind them.
This is what separates psychotherapy from facilitation, coaching, or peer support. Those can have value. They are not clinical treatment, and the difference matters most when things get hard.

Esketamine (Spravato). An FDA-approved nasal spray given at certified clinics, typically with monitoring rather than psychotherapy. A different model from KAP, and not one we currently offer. How KAP and Spravato compare.
Psilocybin. Investigational. Late-stage FDA review is underway, and we are preparing for approval. Follow the legal status
MDMA and others. Investigational and earlier in the process. Education only for now.
