Our Approach

Change needs more than an experience.

We build the conditions around medicine work—preparation, relationship, clinical judgment, and integration—so care has context.

A clinical philosophy

The experience is not the whole treatment.

Meaningful therapeutic change is rarely one dramatic moment. It develops through preparation, a trustworthy relationship, clinical discernment, and repeated contact with what matters after the session is over.

At LuminaThera, ketamine is a tool inside that larger process. We pay attention to the person, the nervous system, the relational field, the medical context, and the life to which each person returns.

The wider field is called psychedelic therapy, and it is where we practice. Today that means ketamine. The container we describe here is built to hold the medicines that come next. Learn what psychedelic therapy covers.

This is why we ask visitors to understand the practice before choosing a service. The container matters as much as the protocol name.

A coordinated continuum

No single part carries the work alone.

Psychotherapy, preparation, medicine, integration, group experience, and ongoing care can play different roles. The plan depends on the person and context.

  1. 01

    Ongoing therapy

The wider therapeutic relationship can provide history, continuity, and a place to carry change beyond a focused KAP protocol.

  2. 02

    Preparation

Readiness, consent, intention, expectations, and practical support are addressed before an experiential session.

  3. 03

    Medicine work

When ketamine is appropriate, the medical provider determines route and dosing while the therapeutic team holds the onsite experience.

  4. 04

    Integration

The work turns toward meaning, grounding, relationships, choices, and what can be practiced in ordinary life.

  5. 05

    Group and community

For some people, a cohort offers witness, shared reflection, accountability, and a more accessible format.

  6. 06

    Ongoing care

Follow-up may mean continued therapy elsewhere, another managed protocol, a resource, a referral, or time to let the work settle.

This is not a promise that everyone moves through every stage. Psychedelic integration may stand alone; group participation requires individual therapeutic support; screening may point toward a different kind of care.

Therapeutic and medical judgment stay distinct—and coordinated.

The therapist holds preparation, in-session therapeutic support, and integration. The medical provider determines medical eligibility, prescribing, route, and medication-related decisions. Consent and communication connect those roles.

LuminaThera offers intramuscular (IM) administration as a meaningful point of difference, and can also use sublingual administration. Route is not a lifestyle preference or marketing tier; it is chosen through clinical planning.

For group work, participants also need an outside individual therapist unless they are already working with clinicians in affiliated practices. We can help source a therapist and make referrals.

What guides us

Structure without certainty. Openness without overclaiming.

We approach unusual, emotional, or difficult-to-name experiences with curiosity. We do not impose an interpretation, promise transcendence, or treat every felt insight as clinical fact.

We are equally direct about limits. LuminaThera does not provide ordinary ongoing individual or couples therapy. We offer preparation and integration within KAP, group programs with appropriate individual support, and psychedelic integration for experiences that occurred elsewhere.

Care may include a referral, a pause, a different level of support, or a decision not to proceed. Good clinical judgment is not a barrier to care; it is part of care.

Plain boundaries

What we do—and what we do not promise.

  • Medical and psychological screening, informed consent, transportation planning, and clinical judgment shape whether ketamine-assisted work proceeds.
  • LuminaThera does not promise a particular experience, insight, symptom change, or outcome.
  • LuminaThera does not offer ordinary ongoing individual or couples psychotherapy. Individual and couples work is preparation and integration in the context of KAP.
  • Psychedelic integration can support experiences that occurred elsewhere, but it does not provide substances, medical clearance, dosing advice, or supervision of outside use.
  • LuminaThera is not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, call 911; call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Evidence in context

Read beyond the headline.

Our public resources explain the care process and its limits in plain language. Research claims and citations will only be added with named clinical ownership and source review.
